Obtaining the access token

Obtaining the access token

To activate the Shopify integration on Vuuh you will need to provide us the following information:
  • shop name - to identify your specific shop
  • access token for the api - to authorise Vuuh to make changes in your Shopify shop in your behalf

How to get the shop name from Shopify

Your shop name can be found in the Settings screen on Shopify in your top left side.
There you'll have the url of your shop (for us it's vuuhtest.myshopify.com) and the shop name is the first part of that url (for us it's vuuhtest).

How to generate an API access token for Vuuh on Shopify

To get the access token for the API these are the steps that you need to follow.
Login to Shopify on the owner account
Go to Settings > Apps and click on Create an app (https://admin.shopify.com/store/<store_name>/settings/apps/development)
If the "Create an app" button does not appear in the Legacy custom apps section, you will need to allow your shop to create/install private apps. This happens because we don't have (yet) a public Shopify app, but we are working on it, which will greatly simplify the installation process!Click the "Allow legacy custom app development" button:
And then click the confirm "Allow custom app development" button. Then you can redo step 2, as the "Create an app" button will be there now.
Insert Vuuh as the App name and select your Shopify owner email address in the App developer dropdown then click the Create app button
After a short wait time for the creation of the app you should be redirected to the app page. Here you should click the Configure Admin API scopes button
Here you will select the type of actions the you allow Vuuh to execute on your behalf. Check all the boxes in this sectionDisclaimer: We are asking for all permissions right out the gate because we are continuously improving and adding new functionality to this integration. If new functionality would need extra permissions, it is a difficult process for everybody involved to grant those new permissions every time, so it is easier for everybody to grant everything at once. If you have any questions about this, don't hesitate to contact us on  support@vuuh.com
To confirm you selected all the scopes, confirm that the number on the Selected tab is 136 then click the Save button
Click the Install app button on the top right side
Confirm the installation in the pop-up window by clicking Install
Under the API credentials tab you should find the Admin API access token section. Click the Reveal token once button then copy the access token. Paste it somewhere safe as that code is the password allowing any app access to your Shopify data
This is the access token that you need to provide to Vuuh when you setup your Shopify integration.
